Conrado Krainer

Conrado Krainer is a photographer based in São Paulo - Brazil with a background in cinema, where he has worked as a producer and director on advertising films, music videos, documentaries, and feature film projects. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Cinema and a Post Grad in Art Education, and his artistic practice is grounded in a transdisciplinary approach that moves between image, time, and materiality.

His photographic research explores themes related to the impermanence of matter, the resistance of nature, the fragility of memory, and the crises of modernity as they reverberate in contemporary life. Through photography, Krainer investigates the tension between permanence and disappearance, presence and erosion, seeking to render visible the subtle thresholds where time acts upon living and historical matter.

Working with mixed media, analog and digital photography, artificial intelligence, and image-editing software, his practice is oriented toward the creation of layered visual structures that challenge conventional notions of archive, authorship, and photography as stable evidence. His images operate as fields of overlap, where documentary traces, fiction, and technological mediation intersect.

Krainer has exhibited his work in art galleries in São Paulo, Curitiba, Rome, Budapest, Barcelona, and Arizona. His projects have also been published in magazines and recognized with awards at national and international photography festivals.
